Kelly Kristine Andrews has been diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer and is just 27 years old. She has never smoked, is a vegetarian, and while enjoying life like any 20-something, has always taken good care of herself. There is no logical reason for Kelly to have this horrible illness. Statistically, her situation is extremely uncommon for someone so young and healthy. While intense rounds of radiation have significantly decreased the size of the original tumor, the chemotherapy was not effective and the cancer has spread. Her fight toward survival just got a lot more difficult, but giving up is simply not an option.

Naturally, the medical bills are piling up. Kelly will need to very seriously focus on integrative treatment as her U of M medical team exhausts its options. There are integrative treatment programs she is looking into, including the treatment options available at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (“If you’re looking for a fight, you’ve come to the right place”). These extremely expensive yet very promising programs are not fully covered by insurance. We all agree that there is no price too high for her recovery, and this is where you can help.

Kelly has spent much of her career serving humanity in Vietnam, India and in her current role as a Housing Paraprofessional for MN Housing, she focuses on the prevention and elimination of homelessness in Minnesota.
